Decentralised Ventilation System Manufacturer in China

A decentralised ventilation system is a system used to provide a temperature control, heat recovery, and fresh air in a particular place it is installed. It has a ductless design, which distinguishes it from a centralised ventilation system, providing a space-saving ventilation system. It has 3 main components, these are a heat recovery system such as cross-counterflow heat exchanger, air filters which can be G4, F7, or HEPA filters, and fans that extract and supply air. It has a controller that has 3-speed options, enabling easy manipulation for users. With its versatility, it can be used in both residential and commercial places such as offices, homes, particularly in a bathroom or kitchens, and other buildings. It is commonly called a “hole in the wall” due to its ability to provide a ventilation system by just a hole in a wall without ducts. Other than the wall, it can also be mounted in the ceiling.

What is the Decentralised Ventilation System?

Decentralised ventilation systems use separate ventilation units in each space and are controlled separately. They are usually equipped with heat recovery and are mounted directly on the external wall without the use of ducts. It is therefore the ideal solution for managing the air quality of commercial, factory, or residential spaces with varying environmental conditions, especially for individual refurbishments or spaces with special ventilation needs.

Advantages of a Decentralised Ventilation System

Reduced Costs

A decentralised ventilation system will cost you less than a centralised one. The entire ventilation system does not need to be modified for areas that require individual renovation or individual control of the environment. It is mounted directly on the external wall, making it more efficient in terms of ventilation. In addition, it is equipped with a heat recovery system that provides up to 92 per cent heat recovery, which reduces energy losses and therefore reduces your energy costs.

Guaranteed Comfort

Decentralised ventilation systems are equipped with high-quality filters, such as G4 filters that comply with the ISO 16890 global standard. They help you to improve air quality by expelling air from spaces that contain dust, debris, humidity, odours, and more. This is important whether you are in a working environment with harsher conditions or a crowded commercial environment. It improves the comfort of the environment and your staff and customers, and in turn improves operations and productivity.

Simple Installation and Use

You can install the decentralised ventilation system in windows, walls and ceilings. And it doesn’t require you to modify the structure of the space and install a lot of plumbing. It is equipped with temperature and humidity sensors that automatically detect environmental conditions and make intelligent adjustments. Simple installation and intelligent control reduce your labour costs to a certain extent. You can also control it manually to reduce unnecessary energy consumption.

Zoned Control

You can use a decentralised ventilation system for individual spaces within a building, thus enabling individual control. This is an excellent solution to the problem that different spaces in a factory have different requirements for environmental conditions. Thanks to it, you can control the temperature, humidity, and hygiene standards in different industrial warehouses. Alternatively, you can use it for bathrooms and toilets in hotels or shopping centres for a better user experience.

Types of Decentralised Ventilation Systems

Decentralised Ventilation Systems with Continuous Operation

The continuously operating decentralised ventilation system has two fans for simultaneous extraction and exhaust. The exhaust fan removes waste gases containing mist, dust, etc. from the space, while the extract fan brings in fresh air from outside the space. Its heat exchanger, installed between the two fans, continuously absorbs heat from the exhaust air and transfers it to the fresh air being drawn in.

Decentralised Ventilation Systems in Reversing Operation

The decentralised ventilation system with reverse operation has only one fan and controls the direction of rotation of the fan by means of a controller. It can change the direction of the fan every 70 seconds, alternating between exhaust and suction. A heat recovery system absorbs waste heat and stores it during exhaust and transfers it to the fresh air during suction.

Decentralised Ventilation Systems VS. Centralised Ventilation Systems

Unlike decentralised ventilation systems, centralised ventilation systems use a single unit to provide ventilation for the entire building. It requires the use of air distribution systems and ducts to draw in fresh air from outside and transport it to the various areas.

Differences in Installation

  • The decentralised ventilation system is installed directly on the external wall of each space. Since no air distribution system or ducting is required, installation and maintenance are simpler. However, it is important to note that decentralised ventilation systems can only be installed on external walls. So if you’re looking for a solution for a project that’s far from an exterior wall, centralised would be more appropriate.
  • Centralised ventilation systems, on the other hand, require the deployment of ducting and centralised control of the ventilation units in each area. This requires you to hire more specialised operators for installation and maintenance. It is also more aesthetically pleasing to install, allowing you to use it in high-end hotels or commercial establishments. But if your project is not suitable for ductwork installation, it is not suitable

Differences in Noise Level

Decentralised ventilation systems have fans installed directly in the room, whereas centralised ventilation systems have fans that are usually installed in ducts and farther away from the room. As a result, decentralised ventilation systems produce higher noise levels than centralised ventilation systems. A centralised ventilation system will provide a more comfortable environment for your customers and employees.

Differences in Additional Options

Both decentralised and centralised ventilation systems are equipped with heat exchangers, which allow them to extract energy from the exhaust gases and circulate heat. And you can also choose to equip centralised ventilation systems with a heating option, making it possible to keep the space warm in cold climates.

Differences in Costs

A centralised ventilation system needs to utilise a large number of ducts with more components, such as fire dampers. Therefore, it will cost you more compared to decentralised ventilation systems. In addition, centralised ventilation systems are more cumbersome to maintain and require more labour costs.

When to Choose a Decentralised Ventilation System?

Special Environmental Requirements

Different spaces in industry often require different air conditions (temperature, airflow, or humidity). Suppose you are looking for a suitable ventilation solution for a food processing plant or warehouse. In that case, decentralised ventilation systems allow for stricter hygiene control in production areas, as well as special temperature and humidity control.

Maintenance Projects

Decentralised ventilation systems are ideal if you need to change the ventilation programme in part of a space without modifying the entire ventilation layout.

Small Projects

Decentralized ventilation systems are better suited for small projects or those with limited installation space. The decentralised layout makes maintenance and servicing more difficult, making it more suitable for smaller projects. And it doesn’t require excessive pipework for fittings, making it suitable for projects with limited installation space.

Can Decentralised Ventilation Systems be Equipped with Heaters?

Decentralised ventilation systems are equipped with heat exchangers that effectively convert heat from the expelled air to the inhaled air, reducing heat loss and maintaining space temperature. However, it is more appropriate to install heaters in centralised ventilation systems than in decentralised ventilation systems.

Do decentralised ventilation systems require maintenance?

Although strict quality standards ensure the durability of your ventilation system, it’s best to hire a professional to regularly clean and overhaul your decentralised ventilation system every 6-12 months for optimal performance and to extend its lifespan.

Can ventilation systems Control CO2 levels?

Of course, the decentralised ventilation system keeps the air moving through continuous air circulation. And their high-quality filters keep the air in the space fresh. Alternatively, you can equip your decentralised ventilation system with a carbon monoxide detector, which accurately reports current levels to ensure a timely response.
