Why We Need to Install Air Curtains?
As you enter a bank or a shopping mall, you may perceive a breeze at the entry point but cannot pinpoint its origin. It is actually produced from an invisible air curtain. Hidden in the ceiling or ornamental features, it never gives up on the overall appearance while always segregating warm and cold air, dust, and insects to ensure the hygiene and freshness of the environment.
How to Hide Air Curtains?

Architects normally attempt to integrate energy-saving air curtains in building designs at no cost to aesthetics. Traditional units, however, are normally exposed above doors, which appear a bit ostentatious.
In order to satisfy this requirement, Aosun developed a concealed air curtain that can be installed in ceilings, columns, or walls. Once installed, it is flat on the ceiling surface, thereby making the device virtually invisible from the outside. This keeps the space tidy and clean.
How to Install an Air Curtain?
1. Positioning
Find the position of the air curtain on the wall or ceiling frame, ensuring there is enough space for installation. Install angle iron brackets later at the predetermined position, ensuring support with them remaining horizontal.
Observing the air outlet to be parallel with the ceiling surface and oriented in the direction of the doorway region. This ensures optimum airflow performance with zero loss in overall appearance.
2. Installation
Secure the hidden air curtain to the brackets and ensure level mounting of the unit. Ensure there is space between the air intake and the ceiling to prevent dust accumulation, which will disturb the airflow. Secure the nozzle extension to the air curtain outlet with a flange in a way that the nozzle deflector plate is oriented vertically downwards to provide clean coverage for the doorway.
3. Power Connection
Disconnect the power and have this done by a licensed electrician. Next, open the junction box and connect the power cable and control signal cable. In intelligent models, connect to remote control systems so automatic coordination can be established with access control or HVAC systems.
4. Commissioning
Once it is turned on, check for even air and uniform volume. The angle of the louver must be set so that air flow creates an even air curtain at the door without skewing or gaps.
The installation process for Invisair air curtains varies slightly by model and dimension. If there is uncertainty in the installation process, Aosun must be contacted. Our engineers will provide professional installation guidance.
Invisair Air Curtain advantages

Elegant and Impressive
Stealthy air curtains are typically installed in ceilings, columns, or bulkheads to conceal the device from view inside the building structure.
The design provides a tidier, more sophisticated entrance space without sacrificing the overall décor appearance, but still maintains the functionality of the air curtain.
Open-Access Design
The concealed air curtain has doors open at all times, welcoming wheelchair travelers, stroller-toting shoppers, or individuals using shopping carts into your building easily—offering an easy experience.
Improve the In-Store Experience
Invisible air curtains perform a great job of preventing cool or warm air from venting out, as well as stopping drafts, so clients feel a pleasant, comfortable temperature from the moment they enter. These considerate extras not only contribute to a better quality environment in general but also create professional, respectable first impressions about your firm.
Boost Sales
The “open-door” policy creates additional foot traffic and extra sales. Invisible air curtains help people see the store’s display and ambiance effortlessly. This enhances their possibility of being drawn in.
Energy Saving
When cold and warm air are blended, the indoor temperature becomes extremely high within a very short duration, and the HVAC system has to work twofold in order to provide a comfortable climate.
Invisair air curtains rectify it perfectly, reducing the compressor load. Not only is equipment lifespan increased, but you are also saving at least 30% of energy.
Applications of Concealed Air Curtains
Commercial Buildings
In shopping places, invisible air curtains are basically your secret weapon at keeping you warm. Brilliantly hidden in the ceiling, they maintain appearance and continuously keep unwelcome outside cold or hot air from entering, keeping customers constantly comfortable.
Either placed at the reception of shopping centers or hotel lobbies, they reduce HVAC energy consumption and maintain indoor temperatures stable. Down the line, this is a choice that remains design and saves energy.
Public Spaces
In buildings requiring noise-free environments—such as art facilities, museums, or libraries—stealth air curtains are equally appropriate. With near-silent operation, they will not disrupt viewing or reading.
Concurrently, their undercover mounting allows discreet fit with minimalist or traditional building styles, without compromising the ambiance of the area.
Industrial Buildings
Air quality is usually an issue within manufacturing facilities. Concealed air curtains create a windshield at entry and exit points of plants. Restricting the spread of dust and exhaust smoke, it establishes employee-friendly breathing for those entering and exiting.
Particularly in food processing, electronics manufacturing, or precision assembly plants, they effectively partition airflow between zones and maintain the work area as clean as possible.
Laboratories and Hospitals
Where hospitals and laboratories have clean rooms, air curtains are of the highest priority. Air curtains prevent dust and extraneous microorganisms in the outside air from entering inside, while maintaining stable and balanced air pressure within clean spaces.
The majority of healthcare centers apply invisair air curtains with multi-stage filtering or smart control systems, enabling more precise and secure cleanliness control.
Key Factors for Selecting Invisible Air Curtains

Air Velocity
Air velocity is the most important parameter for air curtain performance. If the speed is too low, and the air curtain is easily penetrated by dust, warm or cold air into the room, increasing the air conditioning load. Generally, you should ensure the air velocity is sufficient to cover the whole doorway surface to establish a full air barrier.
Dimensions
Discreet air curtains are often mounted in columns or ceilings. To present an “invisible” look, size is a key consideration. Verify beforehand that the air curtain’s thickness and length fit in the provided space to allow flush mounting onto the ceiling for a seamless, streamlined finish.
Installation Orientation
Before purchasing, choose your installation point. The typical installation is on the ceiling above the door with a horizontal flow creating a well-distributed air curtain around the doorway.
In the event that you have low ceilings or cannot hang the unit from the ceiling, you may install it inside the side pillar of the door through a vertical flow design.
This not only saves installation space but also facilitates the selection of the most suitable model and nozzle pattern.
Noise
In hotels, banks, or shopping malls, choose units with operating noise levels below 55 dB(A). This keeps the customer experience undisturbed even during air curtain operation.
However, in naturally noisier areas like supermarkets or warehouses, units with an operating noise level below 70 dB(A) are acceptable.
Better yet: The air curtains are installed discreetly, so they leverage the natural sound insulation found in a building structure and are therefore quieter than surface-mount units.
Maintenance Costs
Maintenance cost is the biggest expense in the later period. Air curtains draw in insects and dust while operating, so cleaning out the air outlet and filter is generally best accomplished every 3-6 months.
For easier maintenance, select models that have access panels that are hinged in an integrated chassis. It is easy to open the panel from below the ceiling for cleaning or maintenance. This helps greatly reduce maintenance costs and time.
Control Methods
Choose manual or smart control based on your application.
- In upscale commercial premises, employ smart models that are integrated with access control, HVAC, and BMS systems for auto activation/deactivation.
- In cold storage facilities or industrial workshops, basic manual-control models are fully adequate.
The key lies in selecting the model that best fits your space requirements, rather than blindly pursuing more features.
